Electrify a tried-and-true, purely mechanical seed drill? Together with our partner Türkay Tarim, we did just that and carried out a complete modernization.

From Mechanics to Intelligent Control

Türkay has been mass-producing mechanical seeders for years. To meet the growing demands for efficiency, ease of use, and precision, the existing system needed a fundamental modernization. The goal was to develop a fully electronically controlled machine that would improve both work quality and cost-effectiveness. To achieve this, Türkay relies on two high-performance components from MRS Electronic: the CAN display TConn 7 and the CAN I/O controller CC16WP.

Intuitive Operation with the TConn 7

At Türkay, the TConn 7 serves as the central display for all key machine information. Operators receive real-time information on alarms, warning messages, areas processed, and distances traveled. Password-protected settings pages also ensure secure access for service and maintenance work.

High-Performance Control with the CAN I/O – CC16WP

At Türkay, the CAN I/O – CC16WP processes signals from speed, seed, fill level, and air pressure sensors, ensuring reliable monitoring of the seed drill. At the same time, it enables precise control of the DC motors via CANopen, making it the heart of the electric drive solution.

Sustainability That Pays Off

The combination of smart electronics and robust communication leads to measurable economic success.

  • Increased productivity: 20% to 30% more area processed per day.ö

  • Sustainability: Up to 30% lower energy consumption and reduced maintenance costs.

  • Greater competitiveness: Through digitalization, higher machine availability, and sustainable maintenance costs.

A Look to the Future

For Türkay, electrification is just the beginning. To make the machines even smarter, the next step is to integrate an IoT module. The long-term goal is also clear: the full implementation of the ISOBUS standard for cross-manufacturer connectivity in the field.
